Ed is an experienced commercial technology lawyer with a specialist focus on complex IT and sourcing transactions. Ed advises both customers and suppliers on a range of technology related matters including the supply and contracting of solutions involving software, cloud, robotic process automation, artificial intelligence and other IT services. Ed is also a certified practitioner in both scrum and SAFe agile service delivery methodologies, adding to his expertise when advising on the legal aspects of complex implementations.
Software and cloud are central to Ed’s practice and he regularly advises on the legal aspects of all forms of deployment models including on-site software licensing, and all forms of cloud types (including SaaS, IaaS and PaaS) and different service delivery models (including licensed, managed services and large scale outsourcings). Ed also regularly advises on the use of open-source licensing models.
His technology and outsourcing advisory work spans a variety of sectors, including financial services, professional services, retail, healthcare and public sectors.
