Samwel is a Partner in Deloitte Tanzania. Over the last ten years, Samwel has developed hands on expertise in corporate, international tax and transfer pricing, including working in one of the Big 4 firms where for two years he was seconded in Zurich, Switzerland. Samwel has assisted clients conceptualize transfer pricing frameworks, including value chain analysis and transfer documentation and localisation.
Samwel’s experience includes working on tax health checks, international tax structuring covering multiple jurisdictions, due diligences, tax advisory and tax compliance services for various clients in telecommunication industry (among other industries) both internationally and in the country.
Samwel’s experience also includes being involved in preparation of technical publications and preparation of presentations to the government on tax issues and adoption of best tax practices, which has buttressed his understanding of the Tanzania tax system.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Globalisation and Multinational Corporations from SOAS, University of London. He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA-UK), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T) and a registered Tax Consultant.
