Spencer Yao is an Audit Partner of Deloitte & Touche and has been with the firm since August 1998. With over 28 years of professional experience, he provides high-quality audit services, IPO consulting, and tax and regulatory compliance advisory. He has extensive experience supporting companies through IPOs in the Taiwan capital market. His client portfolio includes Japanese enterprises in Taiwan, local corporations, and Taiwanese businesses operating in China, with specialization in high-tech, international trade, manufacturing, and services sector.
Spencer served as Taiwan Growth Leader from 2018 to 2025, leading strategic industry initiatives and client programs that drove growth in the firm’s revenue and market presence. He also acted as the firm’s official spokesperson, shaping public and internal communications.
During his tenure as Chief Sustainability Officer (2018 through 2026), he was committed to advancing the firm’s 2040 Net Zero goal, leading major ESG programs and embedding sustainability initiatives into business operations, strategic planning, and long-term value creation. Under his leadership, Deloitte Taiwan received the Green Certificate from TANZE (Taiwan Alliance for Net Zero Emissions).
He currently also leads the Japanese Services Group (JSG), spearheading cross-BU collaboration and integrating AP Growth, JSG and industry resources to accelerate growth in the Japanese Services business.
