Deloitte unveils the 2025 Malaysia Best Managed Companies winners

Three Malaysian businesses have been newly recognised as Best Managed Companies

KUALA LUMPUR, 12 September 2025 – Three new businesses have been recognised as Malaysia’s Best Managed Companies award winners by Deloitte Malaysia (“Deloitte”). Now in its fifth year, this year’s Best Managed Companies has recognised a total of 13 outstanding local companies for their organisational achievements and significant contributions to their industry and the economy.

AME Elite Consortium Berhad, OMS Group Sdn Bhd and PKT Logistics Group Sdn Bhd were named Malaysia Best Managed Companies for the first time, following an assessment by an independent panel of judges that evaluated them against the award program’s core pillars of business excellency.

Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad, LBS Bina Group Berhad, ViTrox Corporation Berhad and Yinson Holdings Berhad have joined Mamee-Double Decker Sdn Bhd and Sunway Berhad as Gold Standard winners, a designation awarded to organisations that have consistently performed at Best Managed level for four or more consecutive years.

Mamee and Sunway first obtained Gold Standard in 2024.

Four Malaysian companies have also continued to be recognised as Best Managed Companies. Mah Sing Group Berhad and QL Resources Berhad have won for three consecutive years, while HNG Capital Sdn Bhd and YTL Construction have been awarded this recognition for the second year. This underscores their enduring commitment to best-in-class management and performance.

To secure the Best Managed Companies designation, businesses undergo a rigorous assessment led by an independent panel of respected business and industry leaders. The evaluation is based on a comprehensive framework with four key pillars – strategy, culture and commitment, capabilities and innovation, as well as governance and financials – shaped by more than 30 years of Deloitte’s global benchmarking against leading private companies worldwide throughout the awards’ history.

These four pillars strongly align with the national priorities outlined in the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), which emphasises building a resilient economy, foster a values-driven society, and accelerate digital innovation and sustainability. Strategy and governance resonate with Malaysia’s push for stronger institutions and transparent business practices, while culture, commitment, and capabilities reflect the 13MP’s focus on talent development and inclusivity. Finally, innovation and financial stewardship support the government’s aspiration for Malaysia to be a competitive, high-income, and future-ready economy.

Deloitte welcomed three new members to the program’s independent judging panel this year – Dato’ Teng Chee Wai, Founder and Managing Director, AHAM Capital; Dato’ Fad’l Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer, Bursa Malaysia; and Shahril Azuar Jimin, Group Chief Sustainability Officer, Maybank. This year’s awards were also evaluated by returning judges Rohaya Mohammad Yusof, Chief Investment Officer, Employees Provident Fund and Dato’ Mohd Rashid Mohamad, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, RHB Banking Group.

“These companies exemplify long-term success by driving both shareholder value and Malaysia’s economic growth, positioning themselves as key industry leaders. In today’s evolving market, continuous innovation and effective strategies are essential to maintain relevance and secure a sustainable competitive edge. By embracing our core Best Managed pillars, each of our winners have demonstrated their commitment to operational excellence and responsible growth,” said Chee Pei Pei, Deloitte Private Leader, Malaysia.

“The Best Managed program encourages management teams to challenge themselves and benchmark against some of the best private companies in the world. We are delighted to recognise their key contributions to not only their people, but also as an inspiration to other businesses in Malaysia,” said Yee Wing Peng, Country Managing Partner, Deloitte Malaysia.

The 13 Malaysian winners join a vibrant global network of more than 1,700 Best Managed Companies spanning over 45 countries. Beyond the prestige of the awards as a mark of business excellence, winners can access invaluable opportunities for networking with business owners, industry specialists, investment professionals and Best Managed winners globally.

The winners and judges are invited to the exclusive and inaugural 2025 Southeast Asia Best Managed Companies Regional Awards Ceremony which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 19 November 2025. This event will mark the first time that winners across Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam gather to receive their awards together as one regional community of exceptional privately held companies. The landmark occasion promises an evening of celebration, networking, and meaningful cross-market connection.

“This year’s Best Managed Companies winners embody the ethos of balancing bold ambition with disciplined execution, while never losing sight of the importance of people, culture and purpose. It is a privilege to witness their journey and celebrate the positive impact they have made on both the local economy and the wider Southeast Asian business landscape,” added Chua How Kiat, Best Managed Companies Leader, Deloitte Southeast Asia.

Best Managed Companies is a flagship program presented by Deloitte Private, a division of Deloitte dedicated exclusively to serving private clients of all sizes.

Note to Editor:
Some of the winners are publicly listed companies. The term “private enterprise” is used because most of their shares are still privately owned, either directly or indirectly, which is a requirement to participate in the Best Managed Companies program.
