Daniel is a tax partner with more than 25 years of experience serving local and multinational companies in industries such as real estate, fund management, construction, technology, manufacturing, consumer products and shipping/energy and resources. He leads the M&A tax practice for Deloitte in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
Daniel has extensive experience in Singapore and international tax consultancy and planning in the area of mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, cross-border payments, supply-chain planning and permanent establishment issues. Daniel has been involved in numerous tax structuring and due diligence assignments for corporates and PE funds. He has assisted clients in different industries such as manufacturing, shipping, trading and fund management in the application for relevant Singapore tax incentives. Daniel is a former part-time lecturer for the subject “Principles of Taxation” at the Nanyang Technological University.
Daniel has been named in the International Tax Review’s Tax Controversy Leaders Guide annually from 2016 to 2018, 2020 to 2022, and in 2024. He was also recognised as a Highly Regarded Tax Practitioner in 2025. Additionally, he was included in Expert Guide’s 2018 and in the Guide to the World’s Leading Tax Advisors in 2020 and 2022.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) from Nanyang Technological University and has completed the CFA Program. He is a non-practicing member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Singapore and Accredited Tax Advisor (Income Tax) – Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals (SIATP). He sits on the Board of the Tax Academy. He is also a member of the Singapore Shipping Association’s Tax Workgroup under the International Committee.
