Improving heart failure policy and management in Asia Pacific: Opportunities for impact

Heart failure (HF) is one of the fastest-growing cardiovascular challenges across Asia Pacific. With rising prevalence, delayed diagnosis, and frequent hospitalisations, the burden on health systems continues to grow and impacting millions of lives across the region.

Deloitte, in collaboration with the APAC CVD Alliance, has released a White Paper that examines HF policies across eight Asia Pacific markets. The findings reveal critical policy gaps and system inefficiencies, while offering a practical roadmap to strengthen HF prevention, care, and long-term management.

This report provides a comprehensive analysis of heart failure in Asia Pacific, combining evidence-based insights with practical recommendations for policymakers, healthcare leaders, and practitioners. It explores the disease landscape, epidemiology, and social and economic burdens, while assessing current management approaches across prevention, screening, treatment, and access. The White Paper also reviews national policy frameworks, advocacy and awareness efforts, and highlights why urgent policy attention is needed. It concludes with regional recommendations and a methodological overview to guide impactful, system-level improvements in heart failure care.

Why it matters?

Heart failure is not only a medical issue, it’s a health system challenge. Addressing it requires coordinated policies, improved care delivery, and stronger collaboration across stakeholders.

This White Paper provides a clear framework for policymakers, healthcare leaders, and practitioners to take meaningful action.
