88 procent av chefer i Norden uppger att deras företag ökat investeringarna i hållbarhet det senaste året. Samtidigt rankas klimatförändringarna som en av de tre viktigaste frågorna för företagsledare under kommande år. Det visar siffror som Deloitte tagit fram.
– Chefer i Norden uppger att de känner sig allt mer oroade över klimatförändringarna. Samtidigt tror allt fler att världen kommer att vidta tillräckliga åtgärder för att undvika de värsta effekterna. Denna oro och optimism speglas i ökade investeringar och ett större fokus på hållbarhet bland företagen, säger Lennart Nordqvist, partner på Deloitte.
Studien CxO Sustainability Report 2024 visar att andelen nordiska chefer som uppger att deras företag ökat hållbarhetsinvesteringarna stiger, från 72 procent förra året till 88 procent i år. Även på global nivå har andelen som uppger ökade investeringar stigit, från 75 till 85 procent.
37 procent av de nordiska cheferna förväntar sig att hållbarhet kommer att vara en av de högst prioriterade frågorna för företagsledare under det kommande året. Endast den ekonomiska utvecklingen och kompetensfrågan rankas högre (39 respektive 38 procent).
– Förra året toppade klimatfrågan listan över prioriterade områden. I årets undersökning faller den till tredje plats – dock bara ett par procentenheter bakom den ekonomiska utvecklingen och kompetensfrågan. Det är mycket i resultaten som tyder på att klimatförändringarna fortsatt kommer att vara i fokus, säger Lennart Nordqvist.
Bland annat förväntar sig 85 procent att klimatfrågan kommer ha en stor eller mycket stor påverkan på företagens strategier och verksamhet de kommande tre åren. Det är en märkbar ökning från förra årets 67 procent, och betydligt högre än det globala genomsnittet på 70 procent.
Omkring hälften av de nordiska cheferna uppger att deras företag vidtagit åtgärder som att använda förnybar energi (52 procent), implementera tekniska lösningar som bidrar till att uppnå klimatmål (49 procent) och försäkra sig mot klimatrelaterade risker (49 procent).
Däremot är det färre som har vidtagit åtgärder som Deloitte identifierar som kritiska för att visa att företaget har integrerat hållbarhet i kärnan av sin strategi, verksamhet och kultur. Till exempel har endast 40 procent kopplat ledningens ersättning till hållbarhetsprestation. En lika stor andel har utvecklat nya, klimatvänliga produkter eller tjänster, och 37 procent fokuserar på klimatfrågan i sin lobbyverksamhet.
– Tyvärr ligger nordiska företag efter det globala genomsnittet när det gäller var och en av de kritiska åtgärderna som ingår i undersökningen. I och med de ökade investeringarna och det stora fokus företag väntas ha på klimatfrågan och hållbarhet generellt de kommande åren kan vi dock vänta oss att fler tar viktiga steg i denna riktning framöver, säger Lennart Nordqvist.
CxO Sustainability Report 2024 baseras på en undersökning bland 2 100 chefer på ledningsnivå i 27 länder. Studien undersöker chefernas syn på och strategier kopplade till hållbarhet och klimatförändringar. 131 chefer från de nordiska länderna deltog i undersökningen, varav 20 från Sverige.
