António Lagartixo is currently a member of the Deloitte Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Executive Committee, an organization that brings together Deloitte operations across approximately 80 countries in the region.
He also serves as CEO and Managing Partner of Deloitte’s regional cluster comprising Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, and São Tomé and Príncipe.
He holds a degree in Management from Universidade Lusíada of Lisbon and has completed several postgraduate programs and executive education courses at leading national and international institutions, including INSEAD, Harvard Business School, and Universidade Católica Portuguesa, focusing on strategy, finance, leadership, governance, and various information technology and digital domains.
With more than three decades of professional experience, his career has been marked by leadership positions in several national and multinational consulting firms. He began his professional career at Arthur Andersen in 1995. In 2002, he joined Deloitte, and in 2003 he became part of the founding team of the consulting firm Maksen, where he served as Global CEO until 2015. Following the merger of Maksen’s operations with Deloitte in 2015, he joined Deloitte Portugal’s Executive Committee, assuming responsibility for coordinating services provided to clients in the non-financial sectors.
In 2019, he was elected CEO and Managing Partner of Deloitte Portugal’s regional cluster, and in 2021 he was appointed a member of the Deloitte Central Europe and Africa Executive Committee. In June 2026, he joined the Deloitte Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Executive Committee.
Throughout his career, he has led projects and supported organizations across a wide range of industries in areas including business strategy development, mergers and acquisitions, organizational and process optimization, implementation of complex digital transformation programs, and technology architecture design.
He was also responsible for establishing consulting practices in several countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East, and has worked professionally in countries as diverse as the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Egypt, Angola, and Mozambique.
He is the author of numerous articles and publications on economic and financial matters and digital transformation and is a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars organized by academic institutions, professional associations, and corporations on topics related to business strategy, digital transformation, and innovation.
Over the course of his career, he has also served in leadership and advisory roles within a variety of business and industry organizations and associations, including APDC – Portuguese Association for the Development of Communications, the Portugal–United States Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), CIP – Portuguese Business Confederation, Deloitte University Entities, the Portuguese Diaspora, EPIS – Entrepreneurs for Social Inclusion, Instituto Superior Técnico, Porto Business School, the Social Capital Network: Strategic Philanthropy Association, and Universidade Lusíada.
He is also one of the founding members of the Cascais Meetings (Encontros de Cascais) and serves on its board of directors.
