Sebastiaan ter Wee

Sebastiaan leads the Legal Tech and Contracting team at Deloitte Legal. He has close to 15 years of experience in the spaces of Tech, Data (Privacy), Cyber and Regulatory. Before joining Deloitte, he worked at one of the largest insurance and asset management companies in the world where he was globally responsible for the multidisciplinary teams of lawyers, data scientists, information security specialists and change leaders advising on and implementing all laws and regulations in relation to data (privacy) and information security. Besides the EU jurisdiction he was responsible for the Asia and US jurisdictions

His team of legal specialists closely cooperates with all other relevant teams and functions in Deloitte that work with clients in the spaces of data (privacy), information/cyber security, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and where IT or Cloud contracting support is needed. Sebastiaan also advises C-Suite on interoperability of the legal function with tech, data, security teams as well as strategic change teams. Sebastiaan has also worked as Competition and Regulatory lawyer at a large British law firm.

He is a member of the Dutch Association of Privacy Law (VPR) International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and as Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) recognized as thought leader in the privacy data compliance fields. For the past 4 years he also was a board member of the Dutch Association of Corporate Counsel (NGB).

With his pragmatic approach and being able to combine strong knowledge on Cyber, Data, Tech and Legal/Digital Regulations he is able to (strategically) advice clients and partners in a holistic manner.
