Four steps towards EUDR compliance

Step 1: Impact Assessment

Gain insight into EUDR relevance and scope.

Determine whether products fall in scope of EUDR.
Identify and map relevant supply chains (countries) to gather insight in EUDR obligations.
Determine EUDR roles as trader or operator (importer/exporter).
Assess contracts in the light of EUDR information requirements and legality assessments.
Internal and external stakeholder identification, who are your suppliers.
Perform a data gap assessment: Identify data requirements.

Step 2: Design EUDR Framework

Set-up of EUDR framework based on impact assessment outcome.

Establish internal policies, guidelines and internal controls, including external reporting.
Set-up solicitation process, including verification of DD statements/information.
Integration and alignment with customs processes.
Set framework for risk assessment and mitigation, including 'legality' assessment (e.g. land use rights, environmental protection etc.).
Define the future state data model: Process the EUDR requirements to develop a data model.
