In its continued response to COVID-19, Deloitte is donating $90,000 in unused ticket credits for previously cancelled flights on American Airlines to Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster relief organisation, leading efforts in the battle against the pandemic. Team Rubicon not only continues to respond to disasters and humanitarian crises but they have expanded their capabilities to include on-site medical support, running mobile-testing operations, food delivery to at-risk communities and opportunities for volunteers to help their neighbours through individual acts of service. Team Rubicon has launched over 250+ operations in 43 states in response to COVID and these donated miles will help move their volunteers around the country to continue to support COVID-related operations.
With offices and professionals located in more than 150 countries and territories around the world, Deloitte is one of the largest travel buyers globally. As a result, Deloitte is donating approximately US$1 million unused ticket balances across multiple airlines to assist frontline workers traveling to COVID-19 hotspots, as well as to facilitate the transportation of personal protective equipment and medical supplies to areas of greatest need.
Deloitte’s multi-pronged, global approach to its COVID-19 response focuses on making an everyday impact through direct donations to organisations fighting the pandemic, collaborating with Deloitte clients and suppliers on innovative medical solutions, supporting nonprofit and community organisations in need, rolling out or expanding employee giving programmes and supporting government response efforts.
