James Bonavia

James joined Deloitte Malta in 2007 as a member of the International Tax team, specialising in international tax and private client services.

Previously, James worked at another Accounting firm where he managed direct tax compliance and advisory for a number of local and international companies and personal clients and later managing the direct tax team and specialising further in indirect tax advisory and compliance.

James has lectured extensively in VAT in the Diploma in VAT Compliance, accredited by The Institute of Indirect Taxation (IIT) and in the Advanced Diploma in International taxation (ADIT), accredited by the Chartered Institute of Taxation (UK), both run by the Malta Institute of Management. He also lectures in direct taxation in the Diploma in Taxation run by the Malta Institute of Taxation. James has also taken part in numerous conferences in Malta and abroad.

James is was a contributor to the book “Principles of Maltese VAT Law” published by the Malta Institute of Management in 2009.
