Country Executive Malta / CEO, Alter Domus
Przemyslaw joined Alter Domus in November 2013 after a solid career at PwC London. He has nearly 20 years of experience in financial services and sits on board of Alter Domus regulated entities both in Malta and Luxembourg. He is an approved person by the Malta Financial Services Authority and the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). Furthermore, he sits on the boards of asset holding and other companies for a range of Private Equity and Real Estate clients.
Prior to joining Alter Domus, Przemyslaw was part of the asset management assurance practice at PwC where he managed audits of an extensive portfolio of private equity and real estate clients as well as traditional asset managers. He has significant and diverse experience in the financial services sector and during his career was involved in controls assurance work, new fund launches, valuations of unlisted investments and review of incentive schemes. Przemyslaw also has strong technical knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, GAPSME and regulatory framework in Malta, Luxembourg and the UK.
Przemyslaw qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC and has a Master’s Degree from the London School of Economics. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors in the UK and hold a STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) diploma.
Counsel, Ganado Advocates
David Borg-Carbott is Counsel within Ganado Advocates’ investment services and funds team with particular focus on advising investment firms, asset managers, investment funds, and their service providers. Over the years, David has amassed significant expertise and experience in the area, advising and assisting investment services clients with novel or complex legal structures, transactions, and legal or local and EU regulatory issues, including redomiciliations, mergers, and aspects of custody and settlement.
David also regularly advises on and assists with the broader range of legal, regulatory and compliance matters in the financial services industry, including obtaining regulatory authorisation, the establishment and authorisation of investment services businesses and funds, and the regulatory aspects of corporate acquisitions within the financial services sector.
Tax Director, Deloitte Malta
Matteo Michele Musi has 20 years of experience on International Taxation and Transfer Pricing services. Graduated in Economics, cum laud. he assisted in multinational enterprises privately owned or private equity backed businesses, from fast growth start-ups through to large established multinationals, to help them successfully navigate the latest challenges in Transfer Pricing in a global environment where multinational enterprises are facing increasing levels of transparency and disclosure. He also advises multinational enterprises on designing and implementing pricing policies, performing risk and opportunity reviews of existing pricing policies, dispute resolution, operating model efficiencies and business restructuring. He has extensive experience in advanced pricing agreement negotiations, mutual agreement procedures and settlement negotiations.
Associate, Ganado Advocates
Luke Hili is an Associate within Ganado Advocates’ insurance and capital markets practices. Luke regularly assists clients wishing to raise finance on the capital markets via listing on both domestic and foreign exchanges, and further advises clients on how best to navigate their continuing obligations post-listing. Luke also advises on securitisation and structured finance generally, and frequently assists clients seeking to establish securitisation vehicles and/or cells within a securitisation cell company.
As part of his daily activities, Luke also assists insurance undertakings and distributors with their ongoing corporate and regulatory needs, including the formation and servicing of companies, share transfers, routine drafting of shareholders/directors’ resolutions, as well as regulatory notifications to the MFSA. Luke also assists local and international clients with legal due diligence exercises, and further advises on commercial and civil law matters as they arise.
Additionally, Luke regularly assists financial market participants and advisors with the formulation and drafting of their sustainability disclosures, and has over the past year assisted a number of life insurers seeking to comply with the obligations incumbent upon them pursuant to the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR).
Assistant Manager, ESG Advisory, Deloitte Malta
Michaela Valletta, an Assistant Manager at Deloitte and is a key member of the Assurance Team, specialising in advisory and assurance with a main focus on sustainability. She actively fosters the growth of Deloitte's ESG function whilst also assisting clients with CSRD compliance and sustainability strategy. Moreover, she has been invited as a guest lecturer at University of Malta and MCAST on ESG, and contributes to the Malta Institute of Accountants, Sustainability Reporting Committee's Education Working Group.
Associate, Ganado Advocates
Luigi Farrugia is an Associate within Ganado Advocates’ investment services and funds team. His main areas of focus include the incorporation and authorisation of, as well as the provision of ongoing legal and regulatory assistance to, collective investment schemes, investment services providers and other regulated entities.
Luigi also assists clients in dealing with other commercial law-related matters, such as the restructuring and/or re-domiciliation of companies and other commercial partnerships, corporate governance standards, mergers and acquisitions, and structured financing techniques.

Vanessa is a Manager in Deloitte Malta’s Risk Advisory Business focusing on IT and specialised assurance. She has significant years of experience in performing IT audit, systems validation, security risk assessment, compliance review, assurance review and service provider due diligence review for a wide range of clients including those in the financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, life sciences, real estate, and gaming industries. Partner, Cyber Leader, Deloitte Greece
Christos is Partner in Deloitte’s Technology and Transformation Business in Greece and he is leading the Cyber Services for Deloitte in Greece. He has more than twenty years of information systems security, auditing and technology experience, with special emphasis on Cyber Security. Christos has deliver a range of cyber projects in the areas of strategy, governance and risk management, operating models, security operations, and incident response helping clients to understand information technology and business risks, make informed and intelligent risk decisions to maximise opportunities, implement controls, and provide ongoing measurement and monitoring of their risk environment. He leads numerous cyber engagements assisting organisations understanding the level of risk associated with the current cyber security posture, and to take appropriate organisational, procedural and technical measures to eliminate or mitigate possible vulnerabilities, weaknesses or technical flaws.
Senior Manager, Head of Legal & Company Secretary Services, Alter Domus
Andrzej Tabero is a multi-lingual legal professional, proficient in Polish, Lithuanian, English, and Russian, with extensive experience in the industry, including several years in senior roles and a master’s degree in Law from Mykolas Romeris University (Vilnius, Lithuania).
He joined Alter Domus in 2022 and is responsible for leading, managing, and supervising the Legal & Company Secretary Team to ensure timely counsel to clients on a broad range of corporate matters, aiming to ensure compliance with standards of good corporate governance, regulatory, and statutory requirements. Before joining Alter Domus, Andrzej spent the first four years of his career working for the Lithuanian Tax Authority Office, representing the state in various tax disputes. In 2009, Mr. Tabero joined PwC as a Lawyer and Tax Dispute Consultant and was later appointed Senior Lawyer.
In 2012, he became a Senior Associate at "bnt attorneys in CEE," and in 2014 Andrzej relocated to Malta to join the Legal Department at Hili Ventures Limited - a diversified group with a deep-rooted entrepreneurial heritage engaged in multisided activities with McDonald's, Apple, and many others.
Since 2016, Andrzej has held the position of Senior Legal Counsel at Hili Ventures Limited within the Transactions and Major Projects Department, coordinating legal and corporate matters related to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other major corporate restructuring projects. His responsibilities also extended to Hili Ventures' CMA CGM and logistics business in Poland. Additionally, Andrzej served as a board adviser for Hili Ventures' Polish business, iSpot, an Apple Premium Reseller. Andrzej also assisted a venture capital fund as its General Counsel in 2021, overseeing investment transitions and serving as a key member of the senior management team.

Paul Micallef Grimaud is a Partner at Ganado Advocates, where he leads the intellectual property, technology and data protection practice. He regularly advises clients on their data-related obligations and assists with the handling of incidents and data breaches and the resulting reporting obligations. His master's dissertation, "A pro-active approach towards Cyber-Terrorism: Defining a policy document to assist decision-makers," showcased his commitment to addressing the growing threat of cyber terrorism, earning him a distinction and top-grades at this prominent academic institution.
With over a decade of hands-on experience in cyber incidents, including state-sponsored attacks (both on public and private, essential and non-essential entities), Keith has developed a keen ability to navigate complex digital landscapes. His expertise has led to his appointment as a Technical Court Expert in Digital Forensics, Cybercrime, and Cyber-Terrorism at the Courts of Law in Malta, with today having been involved in more than 1,500+ cases. Additionally, he is a sought-after speaker at cyber security conferences and training sessions both domestically and internationally.
Beyond his academic and professional achievements, Keith is a visionary entrepreneur. He is the founder and Director of several business ventures, most notably CY4 Ltd. This leading cyber forensics company offers a wide range of services, including corporate forensic investigations, criminal defense investigations, and family law cases. CY4 Ltd's expertise is invaluable to organisations of all sizes, from law firms and regulatory authorities to SMEs and private clients.
Keith's dedication to cyber security and his entrepreneurial spirit have made him a prominent figure in the industry. His ability to combine technical knowledge with strategic thinking has positioned him as a trusted advisor and a driving force in shaping the future of cyber security.
Audit & Assurance Business Leader, Deloitte Malta
Michael is specialised in Investment Management Services working within Deloitte's Financial Services Practice. During his time at Deloitte, Michael spent two with Deloitte in London, managing a number of multinational companies in the Insurance and Investments Management Practice, prior to returning to Deloitte Malta in 2009.
Michael services a broad client base both locally and internationally and is responsible for the statutory and non-statutory audits of a number of clients, including Collective Investment Schemes, Investment Management Companies and Fund Administrators as well as other regulated and non-regulated entities.
Michael coordinates various international engagements where he has developed numerous connections within the Deloitte Network. Michael also Chaired the FSI sub-Committee at the Malta Institute of Accountants for two years and is now Chairing the Sustainable Finance sub-Committee at the Institute. Michael is also Deloitte Malta's Sustainability Leader.
Managing Partner, Ganado Advocates
André Zerafa is the Managing Partner of Ganado Advocates and co-heads the firm’s investment services and funds practice. André advises promoters on various corporate, regulatory and other legal issues around the operation and licensing of asset management firms, administrators, custodians, prime brokers and securitisation vehicles. He specialises in the structuring and establishment of alternative investment funds.
André assists institutional investors and financial firms in doing business in Malta through various types of structures. More recently, his focus has shifted towards ESG and sustainable finance and is one of the firm’s leaders in this area.
André chairs the Wealth/Asset Management Pillar within the Malta Financial Services Advisory Council (MFSAC). He acts as a council member of the Maltese Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP) and is an external examiner and tutor at the University of Malta (Faculty of Laws).
André is an ACAMS Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
Country Tax Leader, Deloitte Malta
Conrad Cassar Torregiani is the Tax leader at Deloitte in Malta, a role he took on in January 2020. Prior to this, Conrad has led Deloitte Malta’s International Tax area of practice for over ten years.
Conrad joined Deloitte in 2001 and has vast experience in advising clients, both local and foreign. Conrad is also the Deloitte leader for the Sports & Gaming sector within the central Mediterranean region, is the current president of the Malta Institute of Taxation and a lecturer in international tax law at the University of Malta and Leiden University, in the Netherlands.
Executive Chariman, Finco Trust
After qualifying as a certified public accountant and auditor in 2000, Chris joined PwC. He started his career with the Malta office and later worked in a number of offices in the network till 2010. Most of his time was spent in the audit practice at PwC Luxembourg. During this time, he was also involved in significant capital markets and transactional assignments.
In 2010, Chris joined Alter Domus to set up the office in Malta. The office grew rapidly and now serves a number of a reputable international clients. The office currently employs over 200 professionals. In his 13 year tenure at Alter Domus, Chris also had the opportunity to lead various businesses and initiatives within the Alter Domus Group including the set up of the Alter Domus office in Milan, Italy.
In March 2024, Chris has acquired Finco Trust. A well-established financial services firm offering corporate services and investment management.
Chris also sits on a number of boards and investment committees of international family offices, asset management firms and financial institutions.

James Farrugia is the Partner heading Ganado Advocates’ financial services regulatory practice. He focuses on the asset management, investment services, funds and fintech sectors. James is able to offer clients sound insight and practical solutions to their regulatory challenges. He has also been actively involved in assisting a number of blockchain-based projects.
James regularly contributes to international journals and has addressed a number of local and international conferences focusing on this sector.
Senior Manager, Tax, Deloitte Malta
Timothy joined the cross-border tax team at Deloitte Malta in July 2013 as a summer intern where he began to develop his interest in international taxation while completing his studies at the University of Malta. Upon successful completion of the law course at the University of Malta, Timothy pursued and Advanced LLM in international taxation at the International Tax Centre, University of Leiden, where he graduated cum laude and also served as a teaching assistance. Timothy has also completed the Malta Institute of Taxation’s Course on Taxation and now delivers lectures on international tax matters in the same course.
Timothy is now a Senior Manager within the cross-border tax team where he assists a number of clients on cross-border transactions. In particular, Timothy has over the years developed a keen interest in the online gaming sector and in fact assists a number of operators within this sector on a number of different tax and regulatory matters.
Associate Client Director, Alter Domus
Domenic Azzopardi joined Alter Domus Malta in October 2011 and was involved in both Corporate Services and Fund Services. He currently is an Associate Client Director within the Company act as Head of the Fund Administration Department. Domenic is also approved by the Malta Financial Services Authority to act as Compliance Officer, Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Director on regulated entities.
Domenic’s academic qualifications include ACCA and a Banking Certificate issued by the Institute of Financial Services.
Chief Risk Officer, Heka Funds Sicav PLC
Mr Celati has over 30 years of experience in Trading and Risk Management, most recently overseeing Risk for the Heka Funds. He is Co-Founder of Abraxas Capital Management. Prior to setting up Abraxas, he was a Managing Director and Global Head of Risk Management in the Global Debt division of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in London from 1999 to 2002, where he spearheaded the approval of the Internal Model for Credit Risk at BaFin Frankfurt. Most of his previous career had been at Bankers Trust Company in London and New York, where, as a Vice President, he introduced mark-to-market to the C&I Loan Portfolio of the bank and pioneered Credit Derivatives with new products such as the first 0/1 Credit Swap and the first Loan-based TR Swap. His other successful experiences were in a Private Equity venture in Italy and in Risk Consulting. He is the father of other key innovations in Risk Management, with the first book ever on Behavioural Finance in the industry (The Dark Side of Risk Management, FT-Prentice Hall, 2004) and the subsequent work in the editing of Professor Hersh Shefrin's Behavioural Risk Management textbook (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016). He authored other articles on risk management, hedge funds and liquidity and released interviews on Bloomberg TV.
He holds an MBA from J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University (1988) and a Laurea in Economics summa cum laude from LUISS in Rome (1984).
Partner, Ganado Advocates
Nicholas Curmi heads Ganado Advocates’ capital markets practice, where he advises on a broad range of securities regulation, structured finance and financial services matters, including private and public offerings of securities and listing on Maltese as well as foreign markets, also assisting listed issuers with their continuing obligations in terms of Malta’s listing rules and all relevant EU securities regulation. Nicholas is admitted to practise law in both Malta and New York.
Nicholas regularly advises on the establishment of securitisation structures. He has represented originators, arrangers and investors in securitisation transactions involving a variety of asset classes and has advised on a number of innovative deals that have made use of the unique benefits offered by Maltese securitisation vehicles. Nicholas was Co-Chair of the Malta EU Council Presidency 2017 Working Party on the proposed EU STS Securitisation Regulation, where he was responsible for leading the technical negotiations on the Regulation on behalf of the EU Council.
Head of FinTech Supervision, Malta Financial Services Authority
Camille Pepos was appointed as Head of FinTech Supervision in March 2024 after joining the MFSA in 2020 following the creation of this same function within the Authority.
Since joining, he has developed and implemented authorisation and supervisory practices in the field of crypto assets and actively contributed to positioning MFSA as a pioneer in FinTech supervision. Camille represents the MFSA within various Committees of the European Supervisory Authorities and is currently involved in a number of European network groups related to crypto assets.
In his capacity as Secretary of the MFSA’s Authorisation Forum and Chair of the MFSA’s Supervisory Forum he has gained extensive knowledge in regulation, supervision and enforcement through his contribution to the implementation of a number of strategic projects within the organisation.
Camille has both public and private sector experience in Europe and in the Middle East supporting companies interlinking financial services and technology. At the start of his career, he held various roles in private banking, fundraising, fintech advisory and corporate services.
An economist by academic background, Camille also possesses two Master’s degrees in Finance and Wealth Management from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and IAE Graduate School of Management.
