The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) introduced e-invoicing on 4 December 2021, making it mandatory for taxpayers to issue invoices in an electronically structured format.
Phase two, the integration phase, began on 1 January 2023 and requires taxpayers to integrate their invoicing systems with ZATCA's Fatoora Portal. Businesses will need to adapt their billing systems to be compliant with the regulations, and an e-invoicing solution may be required.
Deloitte has launched INTax, a KSA-hosted e-invoicing solution that is aligned with ZATCA's requirements to help businesses transition seamlessly into the integration phase. Deloitte supported many clients during phase one and has upgraded its e-invoicing solution and methodology to support businesses in phase two as well.
