Updates on Dubai Customs Policy for Goods in Transit

8 April 2026 – In light of the exceptional regional circumstances in the region, Dubai Customs announced on 31 March 2026, amendments to the Customs policy No. (35/2011) regarding the Goods in Transit.

Customs Notice no. 05/2026, introduced an extension of the transit period for goods entering the country from 30 days up to 90 days, with the possibility of further extension upon approval, as part of Dubai Customs’ efforts to facilitate the continuation of the supply chain.

The facilitation is temporary, applicable during current exceptional circumstances, until further notice and the policy is effective immediately upon issuance.

Deloitte’s view

The initiatives taken by Dubai Customs prove their ongoing commitment to supporting businesses and creating a favorable environment for trade and are beyond just an enhancement in the region’s logistics and cargo flow efficiencies.

Key impacts for businesses:

  • The extended period for transit time under temporary admission regimes allows businesses more flexibility to plan and account for potential bottlenecks on their supply chain.
  • The temporary nature of these changes requires ongoing monitoring
  • Existing policies remain effective including tax legislation.
