Qatar – Transition to Digital Computer Cards

View all the latest GES news and insights

23 April 2025 – Effective 20 April 2025, the immigration authorities in Qatar will transition from physical Computer Cards (Establishment Cards) to digital formats. This change affects all processes associated with Computer Cards, including renewals, amendments, and updates. Digital versions will be emailed to authorized recipients and will be accessible via the Metrash app.

Currently, physical cards are no longer being issued, though it remains unclear if this change is permanent or if physical cards might return in the future.

Deloitte’s view

The shift to digital Computer Cards marks a significant modernization in Qatar's immigration processing. For clients, this update offers enhanced convenience and efficiency, reducing the need for physical card collection and storage. We advise clients to ensure their email contacts are current and to familiarize their teams with the Metrash app for seamless access. Despite the uncertainties regarding the permanence of this change, we recommend preparing for a primarily digital future, which aligns with broader global trends in digitalization.
