Revised Criteria in Dubai for Non-Government Nominated Executive Director Golden Visa Applications

View all the latest GES news and insights

22 August 2024 - The immigration authorities in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) have introduced new requirements for non-government nominated ‘Executive Director’ Golden Visa applications.

Applicants who have completed their bachelor’s degree outside of the UAE are now required to include a Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MOHRE) issued degree equivalency certificate with their application, verifying that their degree is from a globally recognized and accredited university. Additionally, authorities may also request legalized transcripts at their discretion.

Deloitte’s view

These new requirements will extend the application process for non-government nominated Golden Visa applications, particularly due to the potential administrative complexities and delays in obtaining the necessary documents.

Companies should re-evaluate lead times for the document gathering stage for Golden Visa applications, especially where employees are supported at the stage of current visa expiry.
