Mandatory Registration on the Tawteen Platform for Companies in Oman

As of February 2026, all companies in Oman, regardless of their size or industry, must register on the Tawteen platform.

Tawteen is a strategic initiative in Oman aimed at promoting Omanization, which focuses on the employment of Omani nationals across various sectors, particularly in the private sector. This initiative is part of Oman’s Vision 2040 to create a sustainable and diversified economy. The Tawteen platform, launched by the Ministry of Labour, serves as an integrated digital ecosystem that connects job seekers with employment opportunities while empowering local companies. It facilitates recruitment, training, and qualification processes, enhancing the competitiveness of local businesses.

While enforcement is primarily focused on companies involved in government projects and regulated sectors like banking, healthcare, energy, telecommunications, and finance, it remains essential for all businesses to comply.

Deloitte’s view

The mandatory registration on Tawteen underlines Oman's commitment to its 2040 vision, focusing on enhancing workforce localization and economic diversification. For our clients, this development highlights the importance of aligning with national employment strategies. By being proactive in registration and compliance, businesses can ensure smooth operational processes and strengthen their standing in the Omani market.

We advise companies to integrate Tawteen into their HR and compliance frameworks to not only meet regulatory demands but also to capitalize on the opportunities it presents for local talent acquisition and workforce development.
