KSA - Updates to Industrial Licensing Tariff Codes

25 December 2024 - The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has upgraded the customs codes used in industrial licensing from a 10-digit format to a 12-digit format. This change aims to unify the customs coding system and enhance data integration for relevant entities.

This update is the result of a study conducted by the Ministry on more than 13,000 products. It seeks to align the finished products included in the industrial license with the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) coding system to avoid import restrictions that may be imposed on the relevant entities.

Way forward:

While this change will bring more alignment between industrial licenses and customs declarations filed with ZATCA, including the accurate tariff code is crucial to ensure the fluidity of sourcing and supply chains. This will also simplify the identification of finished products.

All industrial establishments need to review the proposed updates to their customs items registered in the industrial license prior to 31 January 2025. The review should be conducted via the Sanei platform, and the suggested 10-digit code should be upgraded or confirmed accurately.

After the deadline, the updated 12-digit tariff codes will be automatically applied to accurately identify the finished goods. Failure to comply may result in disruptions due to restrictions that may apply.
