Federal Iraq Pension and Social Security Office launch the Daman digital portal. All companies are not prompted to register and proceed with online filings.

The Pension and Social Security Office (PSSO) has issued mandatory instructions in February requiring all companies to create an account on their new digital platform – Daman. The platform has been created with the aim to shift from physical filings to an online process, reducing the administrative burden on both the PSSO and the contributing companies.

Such development aligns with the broader tax reform provisions announced in December 2023, which emphasize on the digitalization of the Iraqi authorities on all sectors.

These changes took effect in February 2025. While the process should be considered straightforward, the current setup of the platform brings complexities for non-Arabic speakers and companies with a high volume of employees.

Deloitte is fully equipped to support companies with this process, reach out for any further discussion on this matter.

Importantly, while the registration and the ongoing filing shall be the immediate focus for companies to ensure compliance, we note that the instruction brought further changes to the process for obtaining social security clearance certificates. The flexibility of the new online application request and the extension of the validity period of inspection reports should positively respond to the operational needs of companies (historically indirectly impacted by social security cumbersome processes).
