Expansion of UAE visa-on-arrival program

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expanded its visa-on-arrival program to include citizens from six additional countries: Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya, and South Africa.

 Holders of ordinary passports from the above-mentioned countries are eligible for a visa-on-arrival of either 14 or 60 days, provided they meet the following requirements: 

• Hold a passport valid for a minimum period of 6 months
• Hold a valid residence permit issued by one of the following countries: the United States, a European Union member state, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada; valid for a minimum period of 6 months.

The expansion of the visa-on-arrival program is a positive development for individuals from the newly included countries, providing greater ease of entry into the UAE for purposes such as tourism, short-term visits, and broader engagement with the country.  

It is important to note that a visa-on-arrival does not permit the holder to engage in any form of employment or work-related activities within the UAE. Individuals seeking to work in the UAE are required to obtain the appropriate work authorization separately, in accordance with UAE immigration regulations.
