5 February 2025 - The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) announced on 10 January 2025, a new collaboration with 14 government entities to enhance the effectiveness of the Saudi Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Program. This initiative introduces new benefits and incentives for AEO-certified importers and exporters, fostering stronger cooperation between government agencies and the commercial sector.
The program aims to strengthen both the facilitation and security of the global supply chain while providing a range of administrative, procedural, and financial benefits to participants. These benefits extend to importers, exporters, logistics providers, customs brokers, and freight forwarders. Additionally, the program seeks to streamline trade processes to maximize efficiency and improve access to global markets in line with international standards and best practices.
Key highlights of the program include support for the Kingdom's logistics sector goals by boosting competitiveness and expediting procedures. Since its launch in 2018, more than 550 commercial establishments have joined the program. The program aligns with World Customs Organization standards and is recognized in over 80 countries.
