Resumption of the processing of family residence visas for families of medical professionals

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior (MOI) has announced the resumption of processing family residence visas for the spouse and children (males below the age of 15 and females below the age of 18) of expatriate residents serving as medical professionals in the Ministry of Health (MoH).

It is also important to note that the minimum salary requirement to be able to sponsor dependents has increased from KWD 500 to KWD 800.

The MOI's decision to resume the processing of family residence visas for medical professionals is aimed at retaining this priority group of professionals within the country.

Deloitte’s view

The decision by Kuwait’s MOI to resume the processing of the family residence visas for the families of expatriates in the medical profession is a positive one aimed at retaining medical professionals in the country. We will continue to monitor for further updates on when the suspension of the family residence visas will be lifted for other categories of expatriates residing in the country.
