An impact that goes around, comes around!

I have always believed that every individual has a contribution to make in this world, a contribution that can generate an impact. In one way or another, we all impact the people around us and in turn, they impact us. Deloitte is a place where I discovered and realized how individuals working together can create a great impact and accomplish a positive and powerful change.

The day I received my acceptance to be one of the Deloitte delegates for 2019 One Young World* Summit was a day one of my dreams came true! I couldn’t believe I would be part of such a great experience and a part of an amazing group of Deloitters from all around the world, who share similar thoughts and ideas, professionals who believe in the importance of creating an impact to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

The opportunity I received to attend this summit was a remarkable and valuable experience. I had the chance to meet the brightest young talents from more than 190 countries, working to accelerate social impact that really matters. More than 2000 leaders from all around the world, coming from different ethnicities, different professions and speaking different languages, all came together in one place to lead the change and create an impact that matters. I learned that leaders do not have to be top-notch university graduates or CEOs of premier firms and organizations.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are an amazing example of how an individual’s actions can create an impact that really matters, those goals can transform the world and help us achieve a better and more sustainable future for everyone.

In addition, I also met incredible Deloitte professionals who were leading wonderful initiatives in their member firms, and I learned that passionate people will always find a way to create something positive in this world no matter how busy their lives are.

Furthermore, I was thrilled to get the chance to meet amazing and wonderful female partners in Deloitte! They were real influencers and I was amazed by how our organization is really supporting gender equality and empowering women, which is a sustainable development goal I have always believed in.

There are no words to describe this experience, it was one of the best moments of my life, especially that I got a chance to be the flag-bearer of my country that by itself was an incredible and unforgettable moment in my life.

In the end, now that I have become a One Young World ambassador, my story did not finish with my return home, actually the chapters of making the impact that really matter have now started to be written.

I made a solemn promise to myself that I will implement whatever I had learned in those days and also influence the people around me and act as a catalyst to bring benefits to my society and country and enable the achievements of those goals.
