Building bridges of support: Deloitte’s Zeytoun program in action

Deloitte is deeply committed to supporting communities affected by conflict and displacement across the Middle East. Recognizing the complexity and scale of challenges in the region, the Zeytoun program continues to be the umbrella to our humanitarian and refugee support efforts, bringing them together under one cohesive framework.

Zeytoun, named after the Arabic word for olive, draws inspiration from the olive branch—a timeless symbol of peace and hope across Mediterranean cultures. It is more than a program; it is a collective expression of resilience and solidarity. By harnessing the dedication of our people, partners, and communities, we aim to provide immediate relief while also fostering sustainable growth and opportunity for those impacted by conflict.

While Deloitte has long responded to regional crises through various initiatives, Zeytoun stands apart by consolidating these efforts across the Middle East. This integrated approach creates synergies among projects and empowers our professionals to contribute meaningfully through volunteering and collaboration.

The program is built around six pillars that address diverse needs:

  • Zeytoun humanitarian support: Last year, we extended our support to key international organizations such as UNICEF, Anera, and the Palestine Red Crescent Society to ensure the continued delivery of vital humanitarian health and social services, water sanitation and hygiene, and education for vulnerable populations. At the same time, our people actively volunteered and took part in local campaigns to collect, package, and distribute essential aid to communities in Lebanon and Gaza.
  • Zeytoun careers upskilling: Through this pillar, our volunteers mentored university students and early-career youth via the D-180 digital mentoring program in collaboration with Injaz Palestine. In addition, counselling support was provided to those in need under the Zeytoun Specialized Counselling Support pillar.
  • Zeytoun D-CARES (Deloitte – Committed Action for Resourceful Empowerment and Sustainability): Repurposed laptops were shipped from the UAE to Egypt via Thaki to support Gaza families evacuated there. By providing these devices, the program helps restore educational opportunities, empowering survivors to pursue their academic goals and rebuild their lives with renewed hope. This initiative bridges the digital divide by equipping beneficiaries with essential tools to access online and offline learning platforms, digital resources, and virtual classrooms. Additionally, last year, over 10 NGOs and schools across Jordan and Lebanon received support to extend education to displaced and refugee students, as well as underserved communities.
  • Zeytoun internship initiatives: Internships were offered to Gazan students studying in Amman at JDC, providing valuable professional experience.
  • Zeytoun She-4-She: In addition to one-on-one mentorships, women’s support sessions were organized for female staff and students in organizations such as Injaz Lebanon under the She-4-She initiative, fostering empowerment and leadership development.

Through Zeytoun, Deloitte Middle East continues to extend an olive branch of hope and empowerment—building bridges across borders and generations, and inspiring positive change for a more inclusive future
