Urvi Patel

Urvi Patel serves as the Risk Advisory Service Line Leader and the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) industry leader in Deloitte East Africa.  

She has over 14 years of experience delivering risk advisory services across a broad range of clients within the East African Region covering Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Ethiopia. Outside of East Africa, Urvi has experience working in the West Africa market and the United States. 

Her primary focus includes cyber security services, data analytics, information technology assurance, project risk assurance. She has been a key resource in the growth of digital and innovation services in the East African region. Urvi has worked on and led various technology, security, and risk assurance engagements with various Banking Institutions and Telcos across East Africa. With the advent of data usage across businesses, Urvi has been actively involved in an advisory capacity to clients looking to build and leverage data management capabilities cutting across data quality, data security & privacy, and master data management.

Urvi is also a trained Deloitte facilitator. She delivers insightful training sessions on technology risk, cyber risk and resilience, data analytics, and data management, which play a big role in upskilling and giving industry insights to both clients and staff. In the Cyberspace, she has been involved in providing tailor-made solutions to clients in order to help them address their challenges related to Cyber Security (especially on digital channels), Information Security and Governance, Enterprise Security, IT Risk Management, IT Security Operations, Cyber Fraud Analysis, and Vulnerability Management.

Urvi holds a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science and Management Information Systems and is a CDPSE and CISA.
