Leishen Pillay | Deloitte Southern Africa

Leishen is an Director within Deloitte Risk Advisory based in Waterfall City. He joined Deloitte in August 2018 and prior to joining Deloitte he was a Director, and head of the Data Protection and Technology, Media and Telecommunications (“TMT”) divisions at Hogan Lovells South Africa.

Leishen forms part of the Cyber Risk team and is the firm lead for Data Privacy. Leishen is also the Risk Advisory Africa TMT lead.

Leishen obtained his LLB (Cum Laude) from the University of Kwazulu-Natal in 2005 and graduated as the top law student in that year. Leishen was admitted as an attorney in 2007 and a conveyancer in 2008. In 2010 Leishen obtained a Masters in Commercial Law at the University of Witwatersrand, specialising in company/corporate, cyber and telecommunications law.

Leishen specialises in complex end-to-end data privacy solutions and implementations. Leishen’s cross functional capability drives seamless integration between legal, risk management, compliance and IT.
