James joined the firm in 2004 in the Business Process Solutions department in East Africa. He was appointed as a partner on 1 June 2018 and has over 21 years of experience in Business Processes, covering Payroll and HR Management, Accounting Advisory, Taxation, and Project Management, serving a diverse range of clients across Africa.
James has played a key role in growing the service line since its inception (over 20 years ago) from 3 - 4 team members, to the current team that stands at over 70 team members across East Africa. He currently serves as the BPS Leader and Operate Leader in East Africa, in addition to serving a number of clients such as C Squared, Jubilee Holdings Limited, Aggreko International Projects Limited (UK), International Centre for Tropical Agriculture, Trademark Africa Limited, Citigroup Inc., Ford Foundation, among others.
He is also the Growth Office and Strategy Leader for East Africa, a role he assumed on 1 December 2025. In this role, he is responsible for driving the firm wide strategy and creating a distinctive client service offering across the firm while enhancing the Deloitte’s brand in the market.
