Fred is an experienced tax professional with over 10 years’ experience focusing on business tax advisory, corporate tax compliance, international tax advisory, tax dispute resolution and tax policy engagements. He serves our key clients in Financial Services, Manufacturing, and other sectors. His broad experience is invaluable to the Financial Services industry (FSI) team where he takes a lead role in representing Tax & Legal, East Africa. He also serves as a member of the tax technical committee for the American Chambers of Commerce, Kenya (Amcham), a pivotal role for Deloitte’s brand eminence.
Fred joined the firm in May 2019 as an Assistant Manager. Prior to joining Deloitte, he worked with Ernst & Young and PwC. Since his joining, he has been instrumental in developing our business tax transformation which continues to grow across the region. In his role at Deloitte, he focuses on growing the tax controversy unit, tax policy, brand and eminence and new initiatives.
He is passionate about tax policy matters and is key team member of the tax policy team at Deloitte. Over the years, Fred has been part of the teams engaging with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), National Treasury (NT) and National Assembly in lobbying for changes in the tax law. He is also a thought leader and has authored several articles on contemporary tax matters.
He holds a Bachelor of Economics from Kenyatta University and is also Certified Public Accountant CPA (K) of The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya where he serves as a member of the Public Finance and Tax (PFT) Committee.
