Green Optimism: Turning Climate Anxiety into Action

At Deloitte, we believe that we make the greatest societal impact when we create new educational opportunities.

To this end, we partnered with Bodossaki Foundation and SciCo (Science Communication), to deliver Green Optimism -an initiative aiming to help students aged 14-18 transform climate anxiety into meaningful action.

The program combines STEM education and design thinking methodology through hands-on workshops where students develop problem-solving and collaboration skills, and design real solutions for environmental challenges in their schools and communities. Rather than feeling powerless, young people learn to see themselves as agents of change—moving from worry to action with confidence and purpose.

In its first year, Green Optimism is being implemented in eight public secondary schools across Attica, building not only environmental awareness but also essential skills that prepare students to succeed in the new economy. By placing young people at the centre of environmental action, this initiative is creating a generation of changemakers equipped to shape a sustainable future.

Green Optimism is part of Deloitte’s WorldClass ambition, our commitment to empower 100 million people with the skills and confidence to thrive by 2030. The initiative supports UN Sustainable Development Goals (4 Quality Education, 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, and 10 Reduced Inequalities).
