Suchitra leads Deloitte’s EMEA Centre for Regulatory Strategy, a team that monitors the regulatory horizon and helps clients and Deloitte colleagues to navigate the impact of regulatory change. The team has two areas of sectoral focus: Financial Services regulation (mature) and Digital Markets regulation (early stage), the latter being a new business area that was developed by Suchitra, to help build Deloitte’s eminence in a new market. She has published extensively on the direction of travel of regulation and the related strategic and operational impact on firms. As part of her various leadership roles in Deloitte, she is actively involved in helping Deloitte, financial services firms, and more recently technology providers and digital platforms, to understand the impact of regulation on their strategy.
Her team delivers Board and SMF training, and bespoke regulatory briefings to Boards, Senior Executives and regulatory change leads.
She is also passionate about lending her expertise to help shape the future of policy to enable a more safe and sustainable FS ecosystem. She has contributed to a number of industry and government working groups and thought leadership pieces including DTI’s UK FinTech - State of the Nation (2019, named author) and the World Economic Forum report on Future of Financial Services Series: Technology, Innovation and Systemic Risk (Pushing through Undercurrents).
She holds a number of industry roles that are involved in shaping the policy landscape in FS including Chair, CityUK Technology and Innovation Working Group; Chair, CityUK AI Working Group; Member, IBDE, FS Advisory Group; Member, CBI, Financial Services Committee.
Suchitra started her career at Deloitte/ Arthur Andersen in 2001 and has worked in a number of Deloitte teams through the course of her career including Audit, Corporate Finance and Risk and Regulation Advisory.
