Deloitte is proud to support Junior Achievement Finland (JA Finland) and their nationwide Yrityskylä programme for lower secondary schools. Through this collaboration, Deloitte contributes to meaningful corporate responsibility work that promotes youth development and equal opportunities for children and young people. The programme helps develop essential skills in working life, economics, and entrepreneurship, reaching thousands of students each year.
Yrityskylä is an innovative learning environment designed to simulate real working life for students. It offers young people a hands-on experience of entrepreneurship, economics and teamwork by engaging them in running their own mini-companies within secure and supportive setting. Recognised as one of the world’s best educational innovations, Yrityskylä reaches nearly 60,000 lower secondary school students each academic year, providing them with valuable skills and insights into the working world.
Deloitte volunteers play a vital role in this initiative by acting as guides and mentors throughout the Yrityskylä day. They support students as they navigate their roles in the mini-companies, encouraging positive attitudes and practical learning. The involvement of Deloitte’s professionals brings real-world expertise and enthusiasm to the experience, enriching the students’ understanding of the workplace.
Deloitte professional Nina Kurru is interviewed by children in a playful reporter role.
Teija Gallacher, who participated in the day as a volunteer from Deloitte, reflects on the day:
“The day was inspiring. Seeing students engage confidently was rewarding. Our volunteers provided guidance that helped develop important skills in a fun way. We had great fun and it was also valuable learning experience for us all.”
Through this partnership and hands-on volunteering, Deloitte continues to demonstrate its commitment to corporate responsibility by investing in the growth and development of the next generation.
