Our promise to you: A workplace where you make a meaningful difference
Fifteen years ago, Elvira began her career journey at Deloitte within the Transfer Pricing team. Today, she is a partner and has accomplished several milestones, including serving as the Nordic Transfer Pricing lead, being named 'Best of the Best' globally for her work, and mentoring foreign-born women seeking to enter the Swedish job market. 'I see our purpose, making a meaningful difference, as part of my identity, as it permeates how I work with clients, how I lead my team members, and which activities I choose to engage in.
Several exciting things! We operate in an international environment where we work closely with our clients to solve complex challenges. Our clients are leading multinational companies, so we work with people worldwide and have the privilege of having many international colleagues in our Swedish team.
To price transactions within multinational groups, we must have a deep understanding of the client's business strategies and global operations, which creates a close relationship with the client and the industries they operate in.
Transfer Pricing is an exciting and cross-functional tax area where we conduct economic, legal, financial, and business analyses. The breadth of the work means I never stop learning new things!
I am proud to be the only Transfer Pricing advisor in Sweden who has been named in Euromoney's Best of the Best - a prestigious guide that selects the thirty best advisors worldwide across different legal practices.
Name: Elvira Allvin
Role: Partner, Transfer Pricing
The amazing thing about working at Deloitte is that I never stop developing! My journey began 15 years ago as a manager in the Transfer Pricing team. At that time, Transfer Pricing wasn't as significant as it is today, and there weren't many foreign-born professionals, like myself, in the Swedish job market. After five years at Deloitte, I became a partner having built up a multicultural team of incredibly talented colleagues whom I continue to lead today.
During my career at Deloitte, I've had the privilege of steering my career and taking on several different roles within the organization based on my interests and strengths. Shortly after joining Deloitte, I led a network for foreign-born, highly educated women to help them enter the Swedish job market, and three years ago, I took on the role as Nordic Transfer Pricing lead and was invited to our Advisory Council, which advises global leadership. Today, I lead the Transfer Pricing team in Sweden and am the strategy lead for our tax department.
During my time at Deloitte, I've also grown as a person and advisor. I'm goal-oriented by nature, but I've also learned to balance that trait with seeing employees and clients. I'm also proud to be the only Transfer Pricing advisor in Sweden who has been named in Euromoney's Best of the Best - a prestigious guide that selects the thirty best advisors worldwide across different legal practices.
I see our purpose, making a meaningful difference, as part of my identity as it permeates how I work with clients, how I lead my team members, and which activities I choose to engage in.
In my daily work, I make a meaningful difference by always going the extra mile, challenging myself to think outside the box, putting the client's needs in focus, and daring to give concrete and pragmatic advice. From a tax perspective, my colleagues and I contribute to society through our daily work. We help our clients pay the correct amount of tax, which contributes to the financial flows that fund all critical societal functions.
In my leadership role, I make a meaningful difference by continuously investing in my team members through mentorship, coaching, and feedback. I also try to act as a role model and inspire employees to dare to challenge themselves. Additionally, I'm involved in our Corporate Social Responsibility committee, which drives various initiatives for a more sustainable society. For example, we provided project management resources to Elderly Care Services in Gothenburg City when they needed support due to the pandemic.
As a foreign-born professional, I'm particularly proud that at Deloitte we try to contribute to better integration through our collaboration with Mitt Liv, an organization that helps foreign-born individuals with post-secondary education enter the Swedish job market. Through the Mitt livs chans program, I have mentored two people, and as a result of Deloitte's mentorship in the program, we have also hired a fantastic new colleague from Vietnam to the Transfer Pricing team.
