Biography :
As the Asia Pacific leader of the Audit & Assurance practice, Cal’s focus is on developing and executing a robust growth strategy while driving a regional emphasis on audit quality. Cal is a member of the Asia Pacific Executive as well as the Global Audit & Assurance Executive Team.
As a senior partner and leader, Cal has over 30 years of experience in increasingly complex leadership roles nationally, regionally and globally. Most recently, Cal was the Global Audit & Assurance Quality Leader and Chair of the Global Audit Quality Board. In this role, he was responsible for audit processes, policies, methodology and practice reviews to ensure consistent high-quality audits across the Deloitte global network of 160 countries.
Cal also led the Canadian Assurance & Advisory practice as Managing Partner where he successfully transformed the practice with a renewed focus on audit quality and execution. He has also served as a member of the Deloitte Canadian Executive Team and as a member of Deloitte Canada’s Board of Directors.
Through his career, Cal has provided assurance and advisory services to a broad spectrum of publicly listed and privately-held organizations in the mining, transportation, telecommunications, manufacturing and equipment industries.
Cal is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants in Manitoba, Ontario and British Columbia. He has been actively involved in a number of not-for-profit organizations in the educational, environmental and professional sectors. Cal completed his Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from the University of Manitoba and was part of the Executive Management and Global Strategic Leadership Programs at Columbia University.
Cal enjoys downhill skiing and running. He lives in Singapore with his wife and has three adult children and a grandson.
