Sustainabilty & Resilience

Crisis and Resilience

Deloitte’s Crisis and Resilience offering helps organizations assess and monitor risks that could cause disruptions to operations and prevent and avoid crisis when possible. Our services span the entire crisis lifecycle, helping clients identify, assess, prevent, prepare, respond to and recover from crisis.

Challenges

In an ever-changing market and volatile world, it is a challenge for many organisations to adequately monitor situations that cause crises.

  • Geopolitical, legal, commercial, or military conflicts

  • Internal incidents that could jeopardise critical assets, reputation, and/or financial standing

  • A deliberate cyber-attack resulting in theft, product tampering or leak of confidential information

  • Natural or man-made destructive events that disrupt business operations

In addition, many organisation today may experience that they have:

  • Lack of a comprehensive, up to date crisis management plan documenting ability to effectively manage an incident

  • Lack of a comprehensive resiliency plan to reduce likelihood of market value decline or brand and reputation damage due to a real or perceived incident or accidental, mismanaged or sabotaged system failure.

Our offerings

We help organisations to prepare enterprise crisis plans and BCM programmes to help them respond, recover and thrive from an incident, providing guidance and facilitating tests of crisis readiness using crisis simulations or scenario planning as well as providing advice on building effective crisis communication plans and templates.

Organizations must operate in an ever-changing environment characterized by uncertainty, where their reputational value is closely aligned by how they respond to disruption. Deloitte helps organizations to be proactive and incorporate resilience into their day-to-day operations and move away from legacy strategies that focus on reactive recovery.

Deloitte's business continuity management solution focuses on helping clients prepare for and respond to disruptions to business operations. Business continuity management is not a one-time activity, but an ongoing effort to improve overall resilience, which is planned and integrated into day-to-day operations and enables organizations to continue their business during a disruption.

True strategic crises do not happen every day. Deloitte’s crisis management methodology supports clients to prepare for, respond to and recover from crises that threaten their viability.

Deloitte supports clients in fortifying their technology services and infrastructure. Deloitte helps clients evaluate and implement practices that align business recovery priorities with technology resilience; encompassing an evolved, collaborative and business-aligned approach.

High impact events and severe disruptions will continue to happen. Rather than merely reacting to events, Deloitte's incident-response capabilities help proactively detect whether the organizations has been compromised and, if so, support rapid response and recovery activities that can help organizations recover quickly after a disruption through predefined plans, procedures, and playbooks.

Deloitte helps organizations respond to and control an incident through emergency response plans or procedures.

Physical Security is the design method used to deny, detect, and protect facilities, staff, data, assets, or restricted areas from threats and hazards. Deloitte’s solutions are designed to reduce risk and provide an industry-leading framework for any organizational Physical Security Program.

A crisis simulation exercise is intended to simulate a crisis incident and create awareness around the current crisis and incident response capabilities. The participants may include the executive committee, the board, senior leadership, technology resources, business leaders and/the crisis management team. Deloitte helps clients test their crisis management preparedness in a simulated environment to ensure organizational resilience and continuity of operations in the event of a disruption.
