Only about half of women describe their mental health as good, and only 43% say they receive sufficient mental health support from their employer. Almost half of women are most worried about their future financial security. Not only are we bringing you these findings in this year's fifth edition of our global Women @ Work study, which focuses on women's experiences in the workplace, but also the aspects of personal life that influence these experiences – such as health, housekeeping and family responsibilities.
Only 5% of all respondents plan to stay with their current employer for more than five years. For these women, the main reasons for staying are primarily the opportunity for professional development (the most important factor), work-life balance, flexible working hours, as well as adequate pay and benefits.
A total of 51% of women describe their mental health as good, 25% of respondents have taken time off in the past year due to mental health problems.
Most women feel uncomfortable talking about mental health issues at work, and almost 90% believe their manager would think negatively about them if they knew they were struggling with similar issues.
Approximately a third of women (29%) state that they are unable to detach themselves from work and switch off.
Women who live with a partner bear the greatest responsibility for household cleaning, childcare, possible care for other adults, shopping and financial management.
A third of women are very or extremely concerned about their personal safety at work, and 15% are also concerned about their personal safety on their way to or from work.
More than a third (34%) of women have experienced non-inclusive behaviour at work in the past year, most often microaggressions.
Only one in ten respondents believe that action would be taken if they reported non-inclusive behaviour at work, regardless of the offender's senior classification.
The Deloitte Global 2025 Women @ Work: A Global Outlook survey surveyed the views of 7,500 women in the workplace in 15 countries around the world.
