American oxygen therapy equipment manufacturer Caire has sold the Italian company Medisoft RAM Italia to Czech healthcare group BTL. The two companies had been collaborating for the past 12 years. Through the acquisition, BTL will strengthen its engineering capabilities with a team of experienced specialists and expand its product portfolio with three core treadmill models used in rehabilitation, clinical testing, and sports medicine. Medisoft RAM reported annual revenues in lower millions euros. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
Production will remain in Padua, Italy, while sales and distribution will be integrated into BTL’s global network. This acquisition follows the May purchase of another Italian company—start-up U&O, which develops exoskeletons. BTL employs over 3,800 people in more than 80 countries and is one of the leading manufacturers of non-invasive medical equipment.
