Deloitte China acquires Integrated Enterprise Solutions Limited to boost government and public services offering

Published date: 1 June 2022

  • Acquisition to reinforce multidisciplinary model capability with a focus on smart city
  • Integrated Enterprise Solutions Limited, including all contract and permanent staff, to become subsidiary of Deloitte Advisory (Hong Kong)

Deloitte China today announces the acquisition of 100% of Integrated Enterprise Solutions Limited ("IES"), a Hong Kong-based specialist provider of IT consulting and customized IT solutions that after the acquisition will play a major role in strengthening the professional services firm’s multidisciplinary model (MDM) capability. This acquisition is also part of the firm's INspire HK strategy, which pledges an investment of HK$1 billion over the next three years in capability upgrades and talent development.

Established in 1992, IES was previously acquired by Deloitte in 2012 and remained a part of the firm for five years before becoming independent again. In this acquisition the company will become a subsidiary of Deloitte Advisory (Hong Kong) and continue to operate as a separate entity.

The acquisition will boost Deloitte China’s value proposition to the government sector – IES’ main area of experience – particularly in provision of technology integration services including feasibility studies, business process re-engineering, custom systems development, and IT infrastructure design and implementation.

"Smart city is one of our key value propositions as we build up our Advise-Implement-Operate capabilities in government and public services," says Edward Au, Deloitte China Southern Region managing partner. "We will leverage the expertise and experience of the IES team, including their proven track record with the Hong Kong government since 2000 to deliver large scale system transformation projects in the smart city ecosystem."

IES’ previous and current clients, for which it provides implementation, operate, and maintenance services, include various Hong Kong government bureaus and departments. It also has commercial and non-government organization clients.

"This acquisition is a powerful match for our existing professional services to government and public services," adds Deloitte China Consulting Chief Operating Officer David Wu. "They have vast experience in systems integration using digital and analytics technologies, advanced solutions, and innovative approaches. They also have outstanding credentials in the public sector and deep experience in system transformation for various bureaus and departments."

From their previous relationship, IES’ key people know Deloitte’s culture and ways of working. This will ensure a quick, smooth transition for all of IES’ existing clients and enhance Deloitte China’s IT talent proposition. All IES' permanent and fixed-term contract staff will join Deloitte China and the firm will add talent from other Deloitte teams or new hires to enhance project delivery.
