Our recruitment process

Your first step to making an impact

Deloitte adopts a standardized assessment for candidates across its graduate programs, internships, and the Deloitte Club; however, specific arrangements may differ slightly between various business functions.

Step 1: Online application

Your first step is to complete your profile and application form through a mobile device or computer. Before you start, please prepare the following documents:

  • A résumé written in English or Chinese to be uploaded in pdf format. A digital version of a passport-style photo is optional
  • An English résumé is required for applicants to roles in Hong Kong, Macau
  • Digital versions of your academic transcripts, language certificate(s), professional qualification certificates (if any), letters of recommendation, other certificates for awards and internships (if any), as well as other award certificates that you consider important

Before you begin your application, you will need to register at the official Deloitte campus recruitment website by filling in some basic personal information. After successfully registering, you can use your username and password to save your application progress at any time, log back in, and continue filling it out. If you forget your username or password, you can retrieve them by clicking the "Forgot Password" link on the login page.

On the application page, you can select positions based on your desired city and department. Please also indicate whether you are open to being considered for other roles, and if so, select a second-choice city and department. We will always prioritize your first choice. Should the need arise, we will communicate with you before considering your second choice.

Step 2: Online tests

As part of your application, you’ll sit a series of online assessments. These include a Cognitive Test, Personality Questionnaire and an AI Potential Test. We’ll invite you to take the online assessments upon successful completion of your application. You may be invited to sit a validation test at a later stage of the assessment process.

  • Cognitive Test – includes a Numerical Reasoning Test, Deductive Reasoning Test and Inductive Reasoning Test
  1. Numerical Reasoning Test – measures your ability to work with numbers and use appropriate mathematics in different situations. Tasks include solving word problems, performing numerical calculations, and interpreting charts and graphs
  2. Deductive Reasoning Test – measures your ability to draw logical conclusions and complete scenarios based on the information provided. Tasks include reading statements and determining which options cannot be true or must be true
  3. Inductive Reasoning Test – measures your ability to draw inferences from, and understand relationships between, various concepts. Tasks include working out the pattern in a set of images and identifying the correct next image from the given options
  • Work Personality Questionnaire & AI Potential Test – This questionnaire assesses personal behavioral preferences and preferred working styles. This is not a test of your abilities; rather, it explores how you perceive your relationships with others, your approach to problem-solving, and how you manage emotions. There is no model answer for this assessment

If you encounter any technical issues with the online tests, please contact our help desk at: www.shl.com/en/contact/#client.

Notes: The Validity of the Deloitte Online Assessment is six months. If you have completed the Deloitte Online Assessment, we will take your assessment result within six months for your next application.

Step 3: Deloitte Day

Based on a multi-dimensional evaluation of your resume, online assessment performance, and profile matching for the role, you will receive an email and SMS notification from HR inviting you to attend Deloitte Day. This event consists of a one-stop group interview and a manager/partner interview.

Deloitte's group interview involves candidates being divided into teams to discuss and develop a solution for a business case. Interviewers will observe throughout the process. Following the discussion, your team will answer questions from the interviewers.

In this stage, you need to demonstrate a range of capabilities: the ability to promptly grasp and accurately analyze materials, maintain clear and rigorous logic, propose innovative ideas, and effectively collaborate with your team. This is a comprehensive evaluation that assesses not only your professionalism but also your time management, problem-solving, and agility.

If you pass the previous round, an individual interview is the next step. The interviewer will conduct an in-depth discussion with you around your experience, including your internships and involvement in campus activities and competitions. They will assess your capabilities in learning, active response, and judgment. For some positions, your professional knowledge will also be evaluated. Keeping pace with modern trends, interviewers may also discuss your views on emerging technologies like Generative AI. Feel free to express yourself and share your unique perspectives with the interviewer.

To prepare for this stage, we recommend that you:

  • Conduct company and industry research
  • Review your personal experiences and strengths
  • Have your own perspectives on the industry
  • Communicate in a genuine and natural manner
  • Clearly articulate your career plans and development goals

We are confident that with thorough preparation, you will be able to showcase your unique strengths and secure your desired offer. We wish you the best of luck in your assessment.

Step 4: Offer

If you show what it takes to be exceptional, we’ll extend an offer soon after your interview.
