Jens Ewert

Vice Chair – Asia Pacific

Jens Ewert, is a Senior Partner with Deloitte based in Shanghai office and China Firm since 2002, and has over 30 years of working experience in the professional services. During his tenure in Shanghai, he was part of our Deloitte China Eastern Region management team until May 2025 and remains a senior advisor on MNC client matters going forward.

Jens responsibilities include:

  • Our services to Multinational Clients (MNC) in China. This covers our combined store front of Advisory services (Strategy & Risk Transformation, Technology & Digital programs and Tax) as well as our Audit & Assurance services. He is also the lead client service partner for some selected clients in China (and Asia Pacific) through various industries, such as, consumer business, industrials & manufacturing and financial services.
  • Part of the China Global Office team starting June 2025, beyond his MNC clients role, he'll be coordinating our c-suite market platforms, such as our CxO events and other market facing initiatives.
  • As former managing partner of our national Life Science Healthcare industry team the past 6 years until May 2025, he continues to hold our c-suite and market connections supporting our teams in their development and delivery activities to these industry and players.
  • In his Asia Pacific Vice-Chair role, he is part of our regional client leadership council, advising and coaching our partners and teams around the region.

Jens is the Vice Chair (since 2023) & Board member (since 2019) at the European Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) (Shanghai Chapter). He has received (2021) from the Shanghai Municipality the 'Silver Magnolia' award recognizing outstanding contributions from foreign citizens to the development of the city of Shanghai. Between 2003 to 2015 he was member of the Board of Trustees of the Lycee Francais de Shanghai, and its Chairman for 10 years (2025 through 2015).

He started his career in 1988 in France, and other than China, he has been living & working in Hungary (1990-94), the US, Vietnam (1995-98) and Indonesia (1998-99).

Jens holds dual nationalities of France and Germany, and calls France (Paris) – beyond Shanghai - his home. He received his education in France (Paris), University Paris Dauphine and the Institut des Sciences Politiques de Paris, and holds a CPA Australia license. He married to Christine, with three grown up children and one grandson, and a passionate Tennis and Golf player, when time permits.
