While politicians worldwide remain optimistic about the potential of renewable and low-carbon hydrogen to aid decarbonization and achieve net-zero emissions by mid-century, the reality paints a different picture. Ambitious targets are frequently downgraded, making them seem increasingly unattainable. But what’s behind this? The biggest hurdle is funding. The scale of investment needed across production, transport, storage, distribution, and both current and future applications is immense. In this highly interactive workshop, we will conduct a reality check, comparing ambitious political targets with the real-world challenges faced in practice. We’ll explore the key obstacles preventing the global hydrogen economy from reaching its full potential and assess how these challenges may impact the decarbonization goals. At the end of this 1.5-hour session, you’ll have a clear understanding of the practical hurdles and realistic expectations for the future of hydrogen. The session will conclude with a 30-minute Q&A where you can ask your pressing questions to expert workshop leaders Laszlo Siller and Kasper Walet.
Participants in this SkillSphere workshop will develop key skills essential for navigating the global hydrogen economy. They will gain expertise in evaluating political targets and understanding real-world challenges, particularly in areas like funding, infrastructure, and technological barriers. Attendees will build strategic thinking capabilities, allowing them to plan and manage hydrogen-related projects effectively. Furthermore, they will develop problem-solving skills tailored to addressing decarbonization goals and industry limitations. The workshop also enhances critical analysis, enabling participants to compare theoretical frameworks with practical applications. These skills will be officially recognized in the SkillSphere certificate awarded upon completion of the program.
Participants who successfully complete the webinar will receive the SkillSphere Certificate of Excellence, co-branded with Deloitte. This certificate validates the comprehensive content learned and the skills developed during the program. The certificate serves as official recognition of the participant’s knowledge and expertise in key industry standards, demonstrating their readiness to apply these skills in real-world scenarios. It can be presented to employers, stakeholders, or added to professional portfolios as proof of continuing education and specialized skill development.
