Deloitte’s global diversity, equity and inclusion strategy is focused not only on helping Deloitte people live our values and understand the importance of a culture that stands against all non-inclusive behaviors, but also on designing and implementing targeted interventions that champion diversity and address systemic inequities around the world.
Deloitte stands against racism and racial and ethnic inequality, and we believe that clear and tangible action is critical both within the walls of Deloitte and in the communities we serve.
Enabling people to put themselves in the place of others is a powerful way to build empathy and support allyship which is itself a fundamental tool for driving inclusion. Deloitte Global is thus focused on helping build empathy and allyship through storytelling using the lived experience of those at Deloitte and beyond to imagine perspectives of how someone might experience their workday. Listen to Peter’s story and take a moment to put yourself in his place.
“I feel the stares but they quickly look away. The woman on the bus who clasps her handbag a little bit tighter. The man who gets tense when I sit down beside him.”
