What did you like most about your role?
The thing that I liked most about my role was the many opportunities it provided to learn new things and meet new people.
What attracted you to Deloitte?
Deloitte’s interest in young, aspiring accountants and Bahamians attracted me to them. Their co-op program, as well as their legacy, led me to join.
Describe your role while serving at Deloitte
Working in the consulting department involved a multitude of tasks from understanding the clients’ business by attending meetings and working closely with managers about the work to be done on engagements. I also learned about best practices and industry tools that allowed me to execute my job in an efficient manner while assisting the client. Deloitte gave me the opportunity to be involved in many different industries and service lines. This allowed me to create business relationships and networking while representing the brand in a professional manner.
What else were you involved with during your tenure at Deloitte?
I participated in the Co-op Program, IMPACT Day, Social Committee and Accounting Committee. I also participated in presentations at The College of the Bahamas and at Saint Augustine’s College High School. I was an advisor volunteering for the company in the Junior Achievement Program.
How did Deloitte contribute towards your long term career goals?
Deloitte has contributed towards my longer term career by assisting me in the pursuit of a Certification in Valuation. I believed that obtaining this would allow me to perform similar services with any client.
