What do you like most about your role?
I like that I get to lead Talent (human resources) projects amongst the firm, liaising with various departments and levels. I really like that I can be creative in my role and have much autonomy within my team. It is also really rewarding to be a part of the Caribbean and Bermuda Countries (CBC) member firm and building processes and programs amongst all of the islands.
What attracted you to Deloitte?
The role and the team attracted me to Deloitte. Knowing that I was finally able to take my career to the next level, and work with such a knowledgeable and dynamic team was exciting.
Describe your day to day role:
My day to day role includes liaising with staff and Partners to assist with HR requests, delivering soft skill training, dealing with and guiding employee relations matters, onboarding new hires, student initiatives including recruitment, scholarships, summer placements, programme activities and presentations to local schools, executing employee engagement and staff appreciation initiatives, executing wellness initiatives and so much more!
What else have your been involved with since joining Deloitte?
When I joined Deloitte I had recently finished my two year Chairperson Position within the Bermuda’s Emerging Professionals (BEPRO) organisation; becoming the 2015 Advisor. This organisation gave me the opportunity to learn how to manage two full time jobs, executing events and workshops and providing successful networking opportunities to emerging and established professionals. I was also completing my Postgraduate Certification in Human Resource Management (December 2015) with future hopes of completing my Master’s.
What is Deloitte’s role in your longer term career goals?
I really enjoy Deloitte as a firm and the potential career growth within Talent. Deloitte’s role in the longer term is to continue providing me with growth opportunities and the autonomy to be creative and implement new ideas.
What have you enjoyed most?
I would say I really love having brainstorming sessions with my team. There is so much to be learned from our Talent Leader!
