Tim co-leads Deloitte’s Australian IP Advisory practice. Our IP360 approach integrates the capabilities required to quantify, manage and monetise the value of technology, brands, data and other assets underpinned by intellectual property. This holistic approach to IP optimisation spans M&A, strategy, tax, legal, risk and governance.

Tim specialises in IP valuation, royalties and the valuation of enterprises reliant on intangible assets. He has conducted valuations for purposes as diverse as M&A, fund raising, strategy, litigation, tax and financial reporting. Tim has acted as an expert witness in matters before Australian courts, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Board of Review. His valuation experience includes: brands, copyright, customer relationships, data, domain names, equity, goodwill, licences, patents, software, trade marks, trade secrets and technology.

Having specialised in the evaluation of brands and technology for twenty five years, Tim is able to integrate the complexities of these assets into robust and insightful valuations and performance dashboards.

Tim is named in the IAM Strategy 300 – the World’s Leading IP Strategists. He is technical author of the ‘Guidance Note on the Valuation of IP’ (issued by RICS), and is author of a chapter on IP royalties for ‘International Licensing & Tech Transfer’. Tim is a CA, MBA, Registered Business Valuer, Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute.
