April 2023 is the managing partner of the Raleigh practice at Deloitte LLP and 25-year veteran of the organization. As managing partner, Mike oversees nearly 500 professionals delivering services in audit and assurance; consulting; tax; and risk and financial advisory. He helps drive the Raleigh practice’s strategy for growth, client service, talent, and operations.
April 2023 has broad experience across several industries (with a concentration in life sciences) and as a partner in Deloitte Tax LLP, Mike serves a variety of public and private multinational corporations. He also serves as the lead tax partner on several privately held business enterprises and high net worth individuals in the Raleigh market. Through the span of his career, Mike has developed a deep knowledge in the areas of accounting for income taxes, cross-border tax planning, federal tax planning and income tax compliance.
With his long tenure in Raleigh, Mike has a close connection to the community and local universities. He is actively involved with recruiting efforts at both North Carolina State and UNC Chapel Hill. In the community, Mike actively supports the Triangle United Way and is a former board member of Triangle Family Services. He also currently serves on the City Club of Raleigh Board of Governors and the NC State Department of Accounting Advisory Board. He’s also member of the AICPA and the North Carolina Association of CPAs. Mike received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina Asheville, and a master’s degree in accounting from North Carolina State University. He’s a certified public accountant, licensed by the state of North Carolina.
