Global health inequities are sadly a reality: there is a 14-year difference in life expectancy at birth between high- and low-income countries, while even within countries marginalized and vulnerable populations on average experience far worse health outcomes.

To address global health inequities, the World Economic Forum's Global Health Equity Network and is partners are launching the Zero Health Gaps Pledge: the world’s first global, multi-sector health equity pledge. The Zero Health Gaps Pledge outlines the need for, and commitment to, a multi-disciplinary approach and concerted action across sectors and organizations globally to advance health equity.

Joe Ucuzoglu is the Deloitte Global CEO, leading the largest professional services organization in the world. With more than 450,000 professionals and approximately $65 billion in revenue, Deloitte provides audit and assurance, tax and legal, consulting, risk advisory, and financial advisory services to a broad cross-section of the largest corporations and governmental agencies around the world. Sharon Thorne

Sharon was the Deloitte Global Chair from 2019 – 2023. She has 37 years of experience auditing and advising clients across a broad range of sectors and has spent more than three decades on various Deloitte and external not for profit boards, including 14 years on the Deloitte Global Board. An advocate for collective action on environmental sustainability and climate change, Sharon regularly engages with global leaders from businesses, governments and NGOs on these topics, and frequently speaks about ESG-related matters in public forums. She is a strong believer in the need for greater diversity, equity, and inclusion in business and civil society, and she has long championed greater diversity in senior leadership roles to build a more equitable future for all. Prior to leading the Deloitte Global Board, Sharon spent a decade in various executive roles culminating in Deputy CEO and Managing Partner Global & Strategy of Deloitte North West Europe. Sharon was a Deloitte UK audit partner for 20 years and has extensive experience serving as lead audit partner for FTSE-listed and large private clients and coordinating services around the globe. She also has significant advisory experience, including two secondments to Deloitte UK’s financial advisory business and helping her clients with various merger & acquisition activities. Sharon’s previous governance experience includes the A4S Advisory Council, the Social Progress Imperative Board, the World Economic Forum Centre for New Economy and Society Stewardship Board, the Shanghai International Financial Advisory Council, the Confederation of British Industry Board of Directors and as a Trustee for Prostate Cancer UK. Sharon graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Philosophy, Economics, and Politics; and she is a fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Janet Foutty

Janet Foutty is a principal with Deloitte Consulting LLP and formerly served as executive chair of the board of Deloitte US from 2019-2023. Previously, she served as chair and CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP. While chair, Janet focused on critical matters of strategy, risk management, and talent. In close collaboration with the CEO, Janet also successfully steered the firm through the pandemic. While focusing on DEI for her clients and Deloitte, she achieved greater diversity of the board itself, including reaching gender parity. During her tenure, she also chaired Deloitte Foundation, the not-for-profit organization that helps develop future diverse talent and promote innovation, excellence, and equity, in education in the United States, and served on Deloitte’s Global Board of Directors. While CEO of Deloitte Consulting, she led the digital transformation and growth of the business through significant investments in digital, artificial intelligence, and cloud. Janet previously led Deloitte’s Federal and Technology businesses, which grew exponentially through organic growth, acquisitions, and the launch of numerous businesses including Deloitte Digital. Janet is a frequent author and public speaker. She is a co-author of the bestselling book, Arrive and Thrive: 7 Impactful Practices for Women Navigating Leadership. She regularly communicates with executive-level audiences about the changing business landscape, leadership, corporate governance, crisis resiliency, equity, and technology disruption. Her thought leadership has appeared in business publications including Fortune, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, and The Wall Street Journal. Janet is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); women in technology; and the need for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. Sami Rahal

Since June 2021, Sami has headed Deloitte DCE platform, a combination of Austria, Central Europe, France, Germany and Luxemburg Member Firms. He will connect the breadth and depth of capabilities of over 37,000 people and 1,800 partners. In his previous role, Sami was CEO of Deloitte France and African speaking countries from 2017 to 2021 as well as Deloitte France Chief Human Resources Officer and Chief Strategy Officer from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, he led Deloitte Financial Advisory practices in France and M&A across the EMEA region. Sami has an MBA from INSEAD, a Master’s degree in Management from ESSEC Business School and an Engineering Degree from INPG. He is a certified public accountant in France. Sami Rahal serves as an IMD Foundation Board Member (a European leading business school). He also is a member of the EPE Association, Enterprises for the Environment. Finally, Sami is the Executive Chair of the Deloitte Foundation in France. Sami has two daughters, aged 21 and 17, loves practicing ski, golf and tennis.
