What impact will you make?

As a tax advisor in Curaçao, you work broadly as a generalist. Direct taxation, indirect taxes, and tax accounting are a growing part of the work. You will leverage your expertise in tax accounting to ensure compliance with tax regulations and to optimize our clients' tax positions. You work closely with the Senior Manager Tax or Tax Director. You recognize and signal tax advice points and you can work them out in more detail. Furthermore, you are involved in carrying out analyses in the field of tax legislation and you think along with the development of products that could result from this. Our team is expanding. This is how

  • Prepare and review corporate and personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to provide clients with strategic advice on tax planning and compliance issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and supporting documentation for clients..
  • Maintaining close contact with your customers (ranging from multinationals with headquarters at home or abroad, to family businesses with their origins in the Dutch Caribbean).
  • Cater to local and international clients in Curacao, Aruba, St. Martin, BES en Surinam.
  • Fiscal analysis and advice on a varied number of cross-border topics.
  • Collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines and coaching less experienced colleagues.
  • Embracing the use of technology and (tax) innovations.

You share your expertise with other colleagues in the Dutch Caribbean and the Netherlands, based from Curaçao and other colleagues in the Deloitte Global network. Additionally you have the following:

  • A completed Bachelor or Master's degree in Tax Law or Fiscal Economics.
  • Proven experience in tax accounting, compliance, and advisory services.
  • In addition to exceptional expertise from various tax systems , you also have knowledge of management techniques.
  • Knowledge of the business operations of a financial/business service organization.
  • Ambitious, independent, commercial and you would like to develop further both professionally and in practice.
  • Commitment to the client and values the team interest.
  • Purpose driven and an eye for challenges related to sustainability, while making an impact that matters.
  • A good command of the Dutch and English language and preferably also Papiamentu. Spanish is an advantage.
