Julian Lopez Ramirez

I studied law at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands where I specialized in Tax Law (direct taxes). In 2002 I completed a post-masters where I specialized in indirect taxes, customs and tax policy. 

After this I returned to Curacao where I launched my career at the Directorate of Fiscal Affairs, from Junior Policy Advisor to Director of Fiscal Affairs and Director General of Customs of the Netherlands Antilles. 

On June 1st, 2012 I joined Deloitte Dutch Caribbean as Tax Partner and Managing Partner. Currently, I also serve as a board member of the Business Association of Curacao (VBC) 

furthermore, I am a member of the Supervisory Committee of the Children’s Museum of Curacao and the President of the Supervisory Board of the Central Bank of Curacao and Sint Maarten and member of the Social Economic Council of Curacao (SER). 

I also lecture indirect taxes for Bachelor’s and Master’s degree students at the University of Curacao and write commentaries (noten) to Judgements of the Courts for NLFiscaal. 

Finally I am a co-writer of the book the fiscal system in the Caribbean Kingdom of the Netherlands (Het fiscale stelsel in het Caribisch Koninkrijk).
