Matej is a Principal in the Deloitte US’ Transfer Pricing Group and Global Strategies Group (“GSG”) focusing on strategic transfer pricing planning and implementation projects. Matej is also the East Coast lead within the GSG Transfer Pricing team. Based in the New York office, Matej previously spent five years with Deloitte UK where he was a member of the Business Model Optimization practice. Prior to this, he worked in the Deloitte Canada Toronto office.

Since joining the Firm Matej has built up extensive international transfer pricing experience working with various start-ups and established multinationals across a broad spectrum of industries, including technology, media and entertainment, publishing, online gaming, financial services, high-end luxury goods, consumer products, healthcare and pharmaceuticals. With his international background and experience, Matej has built up a wealth of knowledge of global transfer pricing and broader tax matters. He leads some of the Deloitte tax (US) TP group’s largest global client engagements and has extensive experience managing large global projects in the areas of strategic transfer pricing, intangible valuation, business model design and implementation, international expansion planning, etc. Matej has taught university level courses in transfer pricing and is a frequent instructor on transfer pricing related subject at Deloitte’s national and global trainings.

Matej holds a BSBA in International Finance from American University, Washington D.C. and an MBA with Deans Commendation from University of Oxford, Oxford, UK. Matej also holds a Certificate in International Taxation from The Chartered institute of Taxation in the UK. Prior to starting a career with Deloitte Matej was a NCAA scholar athlete and a professional basketball player in Europe.
